New Playground equipment!
The two big gumtrees that used to reside outside the school office have been repurposed into new playground equipment for the children.
With slides, seats, a pirate ship design and more, we can't wait to see the new playground once it's complete!
Festival of Sporting Fun!
This week marks the beginning of the Festival of sporting Fun. In this one week of sporting excellence, all house groups compete to be the victor of the 2020 sporting cup!
Year 4! History, math, writing, sport, play and more!
We have been very busy in Year 4! History, Math, Writing, Sport, Play and more!
Our History Unit for this Term has seen us investigate the Driving Question, 'Who Does Australia Belong To?', paying close attention to our Indigenous Roots, the early Explorers and the European's arrival to the Colony. We have immersed ourselves in Australia's past, investigating History via our Reading and Writing Units.
We have written Diary Entries, Letters and Articles from the perspectives of the Explorers, Indigenous Australians, Convicts, Officials and Governors.
This process has enabled the students to demonstrate both their Creative Writing Skills as well as their knowledge of History.
The culmination of this Unit of work will be celebrated and demonstrated this coming week by the students of Year 4 as their collaborative Teams share their understandings of Australia's History at an Exhibition hosted in our Learning Spaces for their peers in Year 3.
In Math, we had the opportunity to explore a variety of Problem Solving concepts with a visit from 'World of Math'.
The practical interactive experiences provided the students with lots of inquiry, fun and learning! These opportunities definitely proved that Math is all around us!
In Sport, the students have been developing skills in Gymnastics, European Handball and Touch Football.
We may not be Olympic Champions yet, but we have fun striving to be our best!
The last week of Term 3 is sure to be like all the others; busy, challenging and lots of fun! We look forward to the adventures ahead!

Today we have conducted an emergency lockdown drill to practise our procedures and expectations. Work Health and Safety regulations require us to practise and review our emergency procedures on a regular basis. The students are to be commended on how they responded and acted in a calm and safe manner. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our staff for their cooperation and support in teaching and practising our emergency procedures.

Today we gathered together as a school community to participate in our Prayer and Commemorative Service for Remembrance Day. We prayed for those who gave their lives for the service of our country and for peace in our world. On Monday morning, we had the opportunity to acknowledge our Stage 3 Touch Football Gala Day teams. Our winning girls team were presented with their medals, and the boys were congratulated on their results - one of the teams came second in their group. Well done to everyone on a fantastic effort.

Today is the last day of October, which is observed by Catholics as the month of the Rosary. Each morning during October, we pray a decade of the Rosary to start our learning day. Thank you to all our Faith in Action Team (FIAT) leaders who have led us in prayer during October, and to Mrs Noonan, our acting FIAT Coordinator, for preparing and supporting the FIAT members.

Yesterday, children had the opportunity to watch the show, "Zanna and the Lost Code", presented by Brainstorm Productions. When Zanna and Eddie arrive at coding camp, they have the opportunity to create an app that will make the internet safer for everyone. They embark on a magical journey into their device to find the missing piece of code. Through a series of exciting challenges, Zanna and Eddie experience the power of empathy, respect, kindness and resilience. When they launch the app, they discover that children all over the world can use it to be assertive, responsible and safe online.

Cuteness Alert! Kindergarten are learning about living things in Science and Technology. On Monday, they received a special delivery of eggs and an incubator, and on Tuesday morning, they were already sharing their learning space with baby ducklings! We're sure that Kindergarten is looking forward to seeing all the eggs... quack and more ducklings hatch.
