What a week it has been! Our Book Week celebrations have been filled with excitement, imagination and of course, a whole lot of books! This week Kindy, Year 1 and Year 2 were thrilled to welcome Australian children’s author Pip Harry yesterday, spending time connecting with a real author. Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 enjoyed a fantastic performance by Meerkat Productions, based on this year’s Children's Book Council of Australia Younger Readers Book of the Year - "Inked". Everyone in K-6 has challenged their thinking with the ‘Mystery Picture Book’, uncovered clues to decide who ‘The Masked Teacher Readers' were, explored the wonderful ‘Book Fair’ and watched a funny Reader’s Theatre adaptation of ‘Alpacas with Maracas’ performed by the teachers. From beginning to end, our school has been buzzing with a love of reading and stories. What an incredible way to celebrate our ‘Symphony of Stories’ Book Week 2026!

Yesterday, schools from across Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese gathered together to celebrate the annual Education Mass. This year was particularly important, as we celebrate forty years since the establishment of the Diocese of Parramatta. Be an OLOR Road Safety Star! Remember that there is a zebra crossing at the top of the Redden Drive driveway. Children crossing at arrival and dismissal time expect that cars will stop for them. Help keep your children safe by taking care when entering and leaving Kiss and Drop and Car Pick Up.

Last week, we gathered together as a school community to celebrate the feast day of the Assumption of Mary. Observed on 15 August each year, we celebrate Mary's unique role in God's plan, her saying "Yes" to God, and that she was taken to heaven, body and soul. Thank you to Fr Joseph for leading us in our celebration, and to all our families and friends who participated in Mass with us.

What a great day we had out at Penrith for the Stage 3 Soccer Gala Day last week! All of our boys and girls played their hearts out, demonstrating fantastic sportsmanship, teamwork and respect towards themselves, their teammates and the opposition. Every team competed strongly throughout the day, coming away with a mixture of wins, draws and losses. A special congratulations goes to our Boys' Yellow Team, who won their pool, finishing first out of eight teams! What a fantastic achievement! 🏆👏 Once again, a huge congratulations to all of our students on the way they represented Our Lady of the Rosary. We are incredibly proud of their effort, attitude and sportsmanship throughout the day. A big thank you also goes to all the parents and families who came along to support not only their own children, but all of our students. Your encouragement and support helped make the day such a success.
