Happy Mothers Day! On Thursday, our school community gathered together to give thanks to God for the gift of mothers in our lives, and for the many women who love and care for us. Following our Celebration of the Word, we welcomed our mums into our classrooms. Thank you to all the parents, grandparents and friends who joined us, and we hope that all the mums in the OLOR community are having a wonderful day today.

As our assembly last Friday, we had our first Sport Report for 2026. First, we acknowledged our amazing swimmers. Sapphire, Lucy, Vincent, Evan, Oliver and Aiden all made it to the Diocesan carnival, with Sapphire, Lucy and Vincent progressing to the NSW Catholic Primary Schools carnival. Congratulations to Sapphire for representing OLOR and NSW Catholic Primary Schools at the State carnival last Tuesday. We also were able to congratulate our placegetters at our Cross Country carnival last term. We look forward to seeing our fantastic runners representing OLOR at the Diocesan carnival soon. Thank you to our Kolbe House Captains, Phoenix and Sophia, for your great efforts in leading our first sport report.

At our assembly last Friday, we thanked our Term 1 SRC members, and announced our SRC members for Term 2. SRC members are chosen for their following of school expectations, their care, respect and help for others, and their positive participation in school activities. Congratulations to you all!

Congratulations to Cupertino and McAuley Houses for earning 1000 tokens of respect! As a reward, all students in Cupertino and McAuley will have a crazy sock day this Friday, 8 May. Children are still to wear their usual Friday uniform - only the socks are to be crazy!

With Mothers Day approaching, we invite our families to join with us for our Mothers Day celebrations on Thursday 7 May. The morning will begin with a Celebration of the Word of God in Thanksgiving for Mothers at 9:00 am in the hall, followed by open classrooms until 10:40 am. We look forward to celebrating with you.

Lest we forget. 🇦🇺 This morning, our School Leaders represented OLOR at the Castle Hill Anzac Day Dawn Service at Centenary of Anzac Reserve. We remember those who have served our nation and honour their sacrifice. Thank you to Mrs Prince and Mrs Luland who supported our leaders, and to the staff and families who were present this morning. Parents and friends are welcome to join us as we gather together as a school on Tuesday for our Prayer and Commemorative Service at 11:30 am.

We're really proud of Sapphire, who placed second at the NSW Catholic Primary Schools Swimming Championships as part of MacKillop region last term. Sapphire will now compete at the NSW Primary Schools Sports Association Championships on Tuesday. Good luck!

Committed to our mission as a Catholic school community, our staff gathered together for their annual formation day on Monday. Particularly given the Conventual Franciscan charism of our parish community, and that 2026 marks 800 years since the death of St Francis of Assisi, the focus of our day was on "walking the jubilee path with St Francis". The day provided us with the opportunity to learn and reflect on St Francis, how he lived the Gospel of Jesus, and how we can draw on his example.
