Our purpose is to transform the lives of every student, every day.

Learning at Our Lady of the Rosary is engaging, and our committed and professional staff strives to encourage students to grow to become lifelong learners. Teachers strive to challenge our students to achieve their potential academically, physically and socially in a welcoming environment where mutual respect and trust are valued. Providing our students with learning opportunities which will assist them to deepen their knowledge and commitment to their faith is an essential aim of our school curriculum.

Educational Philosophy

At OLOR Kellyville, we strive to:

  • implement a broad integrated curriculum, educating for living life to the full
  • provide sound educational and innovative programs that are child-centred and sequentially developed
  • maintain a high standard of academic progress through quality learning and teaching
  • provide educational programs and associated support that cater for the varying ability levels and learning needs of all children
  • emphasise English and Mathematics, and develop skills of critical thinking and responsible learning
  • give high priority to the ongoing professional development of staff
  • secure appropriate resources and technology to support learning
  • evaluate and refine programs to meet emerging needs
  • value the role of parents in their children's education and encourage their active participation in school activities.

Key Learning Areas

Throughout the course of each week, children are involved in a wide variety of learning experiences in the Key Learning Areas (KLAs) of:

  • Religious Education
  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Science and Technology
  • Human Society and Its Environment
  • Personal Development, Health and Physical Education
  • Creative Arts

The KLA of Religious Education is based on the Parramatta Diocesan Religious Education Curriculum document, and the six other KLAs follow the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) curriculum recommendations.

Learning Cohorts

The children from Kindergarten to Year 6 are assigned to a grade grouping and will be involved in many of their learning experiences across their own grade. At different times during the course of the week, children in these grades will be involved in activities which enable movement between the grade spaces.
