This week is National Child Protection Week. This year’s theme, ‘Every conversation matters: Shifting Conversation to Action,’ reminds us that while dialogue is essential when it comes to raising awareness, challenging harmful norms, and sparking new ideas, real change is only possible when we turn those conversations into meaningful action. As part of Child Protection Week, Year 5 and 6 joined in a live interactive webinar hosted by the National eSafety Commissioner called: "Be an eSafe kid: Use your safety skills for protection online." They had the opportunity to discover how to protect themselves online with practical tools such as managing strong passphrases, privacy settings and personal information.

Happy Fathers Day to all the dads and father figures in our school community! We hope that you have a great day today. It is wonderful to be able to give thanks to God for the gift of fathers on Thursday. We began with our Celebration of the Word, before enjoying a "Rug and Read" picnic with our families. Thank you to everyone who joined us.

Since 2005, the Rotary Club of The Hills-Kellyville has been running an annual Writing Competition to encourage writing skills among Year 6 students in the Hills District. Students were asked to compose a handwritten piece of up to 500 words in the form of a narrative. This year’s topic focused on the power of friendship. Kaylee, Flynn and Cara were selected as our school finalists. Last week we celebrated their achievements at the Presentation Dinner held at Castle Hill RSL. It was a wonderful night acknowledging the efforts of young writers from across the district. Congratulations on our finalists for their efforts, and to the Year 6 teachers for their support of the children and the writing competition.

It is with sadness that we have learnt of the passing of Mr Greg Whitby on Saturday afternoon, after a short period in hospital. Greg served as Executive Director of Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta (now Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese) from 2006 to 2022. We offer our sincere condolences to Greg’s wife, Sue, his children and grandchildren. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace.
